Aggression on the road is a serious problem, the solution of which requires both prevention and the commitment of institutions at the highest level. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova at a round table “Measures to solve road safety problems, reports the press center of the National Assembly. Legislative challenges and initiatives“. The discussion is under the patronage of the Speaker of the Parliament with the support of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs. The forum is an initiative of the association “European Center for Transport Policies“ and the association “Angels on the Road“. The goal of the roundtable is to unite the efforts of the legislative, executive and judicial branches around key priorities for improving road safety.

With great respect for the grief of people who have lost their children and loved ones, we are looking for solutions with the understanding that every prevented accident will benefit our entire society, noted Natalia Kiselova. Our common goal should be to have as few children as possible killing children on the road and parents burying their children, she emphasized. It is necessary to hear opinions from all institutions involved in road safety issues, the Speaker of Parliament believes.

The Chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs Anna Alexandrova expressed her hope that the forum will have a beneficial effect on road safety issues.

The event was also attended by MPs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov, Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev, Chairperson of the State Agency for Road Safety Malina Krumova, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the judiciary and representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in the topic of road safety.
