Vladislav Panev: Boyko Borisov wants to pin Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone on his lapel in 2026.

The goal will be for everyone to be happy and, if possible, to last as long as possible. They have even found a common enemy in the person of Asen Vassilev - now he is the demon of the budget. When you have a common enemy, you consolidate, the economist commented on the Zhelyazkov cabinet

Vladislav Panev: Boyko Borisov wants to pin Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone on his lapel in 2026. - 1

There is no request for decisive action, there is a request that the current course will continue, without sudden movements. This was said in "Osche ot dne" on BNT by economist and former PP-DB MP Vladislav Panev on the occasion of the beginning of the government of the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet, quoted by novini.bg.

The goal will be for everyone to be happy and, if possible, to last as long as possible. They have even found a common enemy in the person of Asen Vassilev - now he is the demon of the budget. When you have a common enemy, you consolidate, Panev said.

I do not expect the will for reform that existed in the previous cabinets of Kiril Petkov and Nikolay Denkov, I do not expect changes in either the energy sector or the other sectors, which are strongly dominated by the state and have a high corruption potential. In my opinion, Borisov's ambition not to make any sudden moves determines the coalition that is in place at the moment. It is made up of parties that are sufficiently consensual among themselves. This is evident from the requests they are making, the former MP added.

According to the economist, there is nothing extraordinary in the budget deficit announced by the ruling party.
The problem for me is in the expenses, because for the first time in the draft budget submitted by the caretaker cabinet, an increase in expenses by 46% was set, which is far above the norm. The problem is not in the deficit, but in how to cut expenses. We are still the most corrupt country in the European Union. The greater the expenses, the greater the corruption. It's not that Assen Vassilev's policy is all in white, but the main culprits for the inflated expenses are the colorful coalition GERB, BSP, "Vazrazhdane" and others, Vladislav Panev pointed out.

According to him, Bulgaria will have a very serious benefit from entering the eurozone as soon as possible.

In my opinion, Boyko Borisov wants to pin Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone in 2026 on his lapel, after he could not pin entry into Schengen on his lapel, Panev also said.
