The Bulgarian ship is not at fault. For me, there is no sabotage on the part of the Bulgarian ship, but there is sabotage against the Bulgarian ship, and it is not by the Swedes, but by the Russian side.
This was what long-distance captain Donyo Dachev told FOCUS regarding the detention of the ship "Vezhen" due to damage to an optical fiber cable between Latvia and Sweden.
"There is no reason to doubt the qualifications and good faith of our crew, especially the officers. To become a captain requires a lot of effort, a lot of experience, a lot of exams, and there is no captain who would abandon his career for such ridiculous things as sabotaging a cable," he is categorical.
According to him, there is a possibility of sabotaging the anchor device when loading the ship when there are representatives of the coastal company, people from the port, on the deck. "In the Russian port, there were all possibilities for malicious actions to be committed. When loading, there is no one from the crew who is constantly standing on the deck, but there is always a person from the Russian side who manages the loading. The Bulgarian ship is a victim of sabotage, which is supposed to cover up real Russian sabotage," he pointed out.
According to Captain Donyo Dachev, there is no evidence that it was the anchor of the "Vezhen" that broke the cable and only the investigation will definitively show what the reasons for this incident were.
