Four pedestrians, including a 16-year-old pregnant woman, were injured in a crash between two cars in Dimitrovgrad, in the direction of the “Mariyno“ neighborhood. The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m., said the head of the “Traffic Police“ Directorate General at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Haskovo, Commissioner Dimo Chobanov.
The crash occurred when two cars were driving on “Saedinenie” Blvd. “One car was making a turn and was hit from behind by the other, apparently moving at high speed,” Chobanov said. The drivers' alcohol and drug tests are still awaited.
Commissioner Dimo Chobanov explained that upon impact, the first car spun onto the road, went onto the sidewalk and hit pedestrians moving along it.
Four people were taken to the Emergency Department of the Multi-Profile Hospital for Active Treatment (MBAL) in Haskovo, announced the director of the Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Care, Dr. Petya Radeva. A 44-year-old woman was seriously injured, Dr. Radeva said. She was put in the ambulance unconscious.
The emergency department staff at the MBAL-Haskovo specified that her life was in danger.
Two more people injured in the accident were admitted to the department. One was slightly injured, and the other was examined and released for home treatment.
After the incident, a 16-year-old pregnant girl was also examined, but she refused to be hospitalized.
