The Lovech District Court postponed until February 10 the case that was to consider the application for parole from prison of the former mayor of the capital's "Mladost" district, Desislava Ivancheva. She is serving a six-year effective sentence for corruption.
Ivancheva appeared in the courtroom, but the trial was postponed at the request of her lawyer due to her commitment to another case.
The former mayor is serving her sentence in the Sliven prison. However, Ivancheva is currently in the specialized hospital for the treatment of prisoners at the Lovech prison due to her deteriorating health. That is why she is also asking for early release from prison. So far, she has served 4 years. and 9 months of the sentence.
For the second time, Ivancheva applies for early release from prison due to health problems, the first one last year was rejected.
