The government of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is starting with good initial support. The parliament continues to have a high negative assessment of its work, although there has been a slight improvement in the last month. This is shown by the data from a survey by „Trend“ commissioned by „24 hours“ on attitudes towards the main institutions, parties and current topics.

The survey was carried out between January 24 and 30, 2025 through a direct „face-to-face“ interview with a tablet among 1,003 people aged 18 and over.

We register a slight increase in optimistic attitudes after the formation of a regular government. Optimism exceeds pessimism by 6%, with optimists about the future of Bulgaria being 48%, and pessimists – 42%

The parliament continues to have a high negative assessment of its work, although there has been a slight improvement in the last month - negative attitudes decreased by 8% compared to December - to 75%, and positive ones increased by 4% - to 15%.

The government of Rosen Zhelyazkov started with relatively good initial support (32%), with similar values last registered in the first months of Kiril Petkov's cabinet in early 2022.

Quite expectedly - the share (29%) of people who cannot determine their attitude towards the new government is still high.

Over 90% of GERB supporters support Zhelyazkov's cabinet. Among BSP supporters, the positive assessment is slightly over 80%, and two-thirds of supporters of “There is such a people“ also support the new government.

The assessment of the work of the presidential institution also shows a slight increase, with the positive share reaching 41% compared to 36% at the end of last year.

There has been no structural change in the electoral picture since the elections.

GERB maintains its leading position with 26.6% of voters. PP-DB (13.2%) and Vazrazhdane (13%) remain in close positions. “DPS-New Beginning“ is in fourth position with 10.3%, followed by Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (7.1%). We report a slight erosion compared to the election result of October 2024 for the BSP and ITN due to their participation in the government. The Socialists enjoy the support of 6.9% of voters, and Trifonov's party with 5.9%. MECH, on the other hand, notes a slight increase to 5.6%. “Majesty“ maintains levels that are close to the parliamentary barrier (3.8%).

Socio-economic issues are central to society at the beginning of 2025.

When asked what the priorities of the new government should be, 44% of those interviewed indicated controlling price increases. In second place with 19% is the adoption of a budget, and in third place are measures against corruption with 16%. For 6%, the priority should be judicial reform, and for 4% - our admission to the eurozone.

Economic anxiety is also confirmed by another indicator – 83% are worried about the country's financial stability, and only 11% do not feel worried.

We are registering an increase in the shares that the economic situation in the country will worsen in the next one year - from 26% in December to 35% in January. At the same time, optimistic expectations for the economy fall to 20%.
