Rumen Radev's position reflects the reality in Ukraine. And it is that the territories that Russia took will never be Ukrainian again. This was said in the studio of "Hello, Bulgaria'' on "Nova TV" by political scientist Slavi Vassilev.
"The country will lose, and Russia will win, and this is not a pro-Kremlin statement, but the realistic position. Ukraine is in a dead end, and it was precisely people who preach the thesis that the world is black and white who got it there. How far do you want the war to go - until there are no more people left? Our president is a realist, he has always cared about Bulgarian defense. And he insisted on the modernization and rearmament of our army," Vassilev emphasized.
According to him, the plan to arm the EU with 800 billion does not exist. "There are only 150 billion, which can be offered through the EIB to members who wish to take out a loan. We are not talking about grants. Europe cannot succeed against Russia without America", Vassilev added.
In turn, Colonel Diman Georgiev, a member of the Board of the Atlantic Council of Bulgaria, believes that the president always takes a pro-Russian position and repeats Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine. "The position that distances Bulgaria from its membership in the EU is a losing one. The head of state is contradicting himself - on the one hand he says that our army must be modern and well-armed, and on the other - that there are no means to do this", commented Georgiev.
According to him, Russia has a plan to influence the Balkans, turning the peoples into a bridge over which it can pass.
"Moscow wants to achieve economic, political and other influences. The indecision of European countries, with their liberal ideologies, which did not support Ukraine back in 2014, brought the situation to this point. The Ukrainians fought single-handedly, a large part of Western countries did not use all the means they have to put pressure on Russia so that a truce would be reached. There is no danger of a Russian nuclear strike," the colonel said.
