The government is giving a chance for stabilization in the short term, but whether it will hold up in the long term remains to be seen. There are stumbling blocks that can push the government. The regional governors, the budget, etc. remain. This was stated by municipal councilor Vanya Grigorova in the program “From the Day“ on BNT.
“The BSP has not participated in power in this way for a long time. They cannot fully achieve their intentions in a right-wing government, but they can pursue key ones, such as the privatization of BSZ, stopping the liquidation of “Mini Maritsa Iztok“ etc.“, she explained.
“I am categorically against Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. Not only are we not ready, but it is in the service of the big countries. We will enter the club of the rich as servants“, Grigorova warned.
She also commented on the hole in the budget. According to her, 3 billion leva are flowing out of the budget through private pension funds. It should be made so that they are not mandatory, but only optional. Now it is made so that if you start working, you must join a private pension fund before the National Social Security Institute. They have very strong lobbies. Another problem is the extremely low social security income“, explained Vanya Grigorova.
Regarding the cabinet's statement that the 9% VAT for restaurateurs will not be maintained, Grigorova said: “The price must be paid by those who take advantage of the system and gave an example of company bosses who write extremely high salaries to hide social security contributions. Let's stop stimulating the gray sector“, she urged.
“In many countries, the measure to freeze the prices of basic foods works. The boycott of chains should show that measures need to be taken“, it became clear from her words. “There are places where there is a cartel in the formation of the price of bread. The vast majority of the price of bread is formed in large retail chains. It's good to focus on the problems I listed, not against the little guy," she added.
