Iliana Yotova: The problem with vapes is underestimated by the Ministry of Interior

A large-scale campaign is needed - from the Ministry of Interior through the Ministry of Education, necessarily with the participation of the non-governmental sector, in whose capabilities and strength I believe very much, because even today, when we are already seeing the first actions for illegal trade, for trade close to schools, I still see places in my own neighborhood where vapes are sold to children absolutely unhindered

Iliana Yotova: The problem with vapes is underestimated by the Ministry of Interior - 1

A week before the meeting of the National Security Advisory Council under the President, related to the spread of vapes among adolescents, Vice President Iliana Yotova stated that the problem is underestimated, both by the Ministry of Interior and by all institutions.

"You remember that only about two years ago there was a very serious discussion about laughing gas. And what of that? Absolutely no results were achieved. I hope that this time there will be legislative changes, but that there will also be specific measures in place. The main task here is for schools, as well as for the Ministry of Education. A large-scale campaign is needed - from the Ministry of Interior through the Ministry of Education, necessarily with the participation of the non-governmental sector, in whose capabilities and strength I believe very much, because even today, when we are already seeing the first actions for illegal trade, for trade close to schools, I still see places even in my own neighborhood where vapes are sold to children absolutely unhindered", said Iliyana Yotova.

"I expect very serious analyses to be presented, and measures to be outlined", said the Vice President in connection with the upcoming National Security Advisory Council (NSAC), convened on the topic of the risks and threats to national security from the spread of narcotics and intoxicating substances among the younger generation and their abuse.
