The Ombudsman is in the "house book" and the deputies will choose the most obedient candidate.
This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by the former Ombudsman and again a candidate for the position Maya Manolova, leader of "Stand Up.BG", the formation is part of the "BSP-United Left" coalition, specifying that her nomination for the position of public defender is from civil organizations.
"The Ombudsman Law is the only one that allows civil organizations, NGOs, and associations of citizens to propose a candidacy for Ombudsman. I plan to be a citizen candidate and leave it to the individual deputies to decide who they will support.
According to her, citizens should have a say not only in the nomination, but also in the election of the ombudsman, which is now decided by the deputies.
In the program "Horizon for You" Manolova commented on the accidents at "Toplofikatsiya-Sofia", which often leave entire neighborhoods of the capital without heating and hot water:
"From "Izpra se.BG" we call on the Council of Ministers to make a decision by which the state will compensate people who are without heating due to accidents. The necessary amounts should be allocated from the state budget to compensate people.
In her words, EWRC should insist on changing the General Terms and Conditions of "Toplofikatsiya", and the deadline for due compensation should be changed from 48 hours to 24 hours, as is the case with the ERPs.
"We also insist that EWRC revise the Investment Program of the capital"Toplofikatsiya", since there are no repairs or renovations there and the heat transmission network is in a disgraceful condition. The Sofia Municipal Council should stop turning a blind eye to the problems that "Toplofikatsiya-Sofia" creates for the citizens".
The service is not improving, and the draining of the company continues, believes Manolova and added that "the impressions are of continued use and an umbrella by various political formations over the capital's district heating company, and the only thing that happens is that each new majority appoints a convenient person as the executive director of "Toplofikatsiya-Sofia".
