Partial elections for mayor are being held - 1

A partial election for mayor of the village of Prisad, General Toshevo municipality, is being held today. The elections are scheduled by decree of President Rumen Radev, BNR specifies.

The mayor of the village of Prisad, Stefan Stefanov, who was elected in the last local elections, refused to take up his post and filed an application for termination of his powers as mayor. This necessitated the holding of a partial election in the settlement today. The residents of Prisad with a permanent address are 498, and those with the right to vote will exercise it in one open polling station.

The candidates for mayor of the village of Prisad are two - Stefan Hristov from the PP BZNS and Ivayla Nenkova from "BSP - United Left".

In the Vratsa district, there are partial local elections for mayor of two villages. In the village of Leskovets in the Oryahovo region, two candidates have been registered - from GERB and "BSP - United Left".

In the village of Kriva Bara in the Kozloduy region, a mayor will be elected from among four candidates. They are from GERB, "BSP - United Left", "Vazrazhdane" and the local coalition "Together for a Strong Municipality". In Leskovets, a new vote was held after it was established that the mayor of the village had not ceased his business activities. In Kriva Bara, voters will vote again after the mayor of the village died last year.

There are also special elections for mayor in the village of Dragor in the Pazardzhik region. Five candidates will compete for the position after the unexpected death of the previous mayor Georgi Tsonev, who was the longest-serving mayor in the Pazardzhik municipality - 10 terms. Five candidates will compete for the vacant seat today, which is a record turnout for mayoral elections in a settlement.

Police teams will monitor the normal conduct of today's vote. Mobile groups have been created in the DEC together with the regional administration and the police, for a quick response if necessary. A duty counter in the "Bulgarian Identity Documents" sector at the OD of the Ministry of Interior will be open today from 8:30 to 19:30, at the service of voters.
