According to unofficial information, the dead and injured in the serious accident near Vidin, in which a TIR and a bus collided on the main road E79, at the junction for the town of Dunavtsi, are residents of "Stolipinovo", who went on a trip to Germany at the invitation of their acquaintances, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
In addition to the four killed in the collision, there are seven other injured, two of whom are in serious condition. The victims are between 30 and 40 years old. At the time of the accident, 11 people were traveling in the bus from Plovdiv to Germany.
The collision occurred between a passenger bus with a Plovdiv registration, driven by a 48-year-old man from the town of Haskovo and a truck with a semi-trailer attached with a Sofia registration, driven by a 55-year-old driver from the Vidin village of Vinarovo.
According to initial data, at an intersection regulated by traffic signs, the bus took the right of way from the truck.
The driver of the bus and two men - passengers in the same vehicle - died on the spot. The other seven passengers were transported to the Vidin hospital.
Subsequently, one of them died in the hospital. Two of the injured are in serious condition.
The driver of the truck was admitted to the Vidin hospital with fractures, which are currently not life-threatening.
