Pensioners will not be harmed. The Swiss rule will be for everyone as adopted. This was stated by Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov before the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the National Social Insurance Fund.
In his words, "funds will be found", and within a day or two the government will review the budget again, after all the transfers have been made to it. Regarding the talks and the initial intention to violate the Swiss rule, Gutsanov explained:
"Last night we had tough talks. My colleagues and I voted against. For me as a minister and for the BSP, it was unthinkable and unacceptable for the Swiss rule to be violated. For the first time, the balance would be disturbed, i.e. the most vulnerable part of the population would receive from July 1 increased instead of 8.6% - 5%. These were difficult conversations and despite everything, mutual dialogue prevailed.
Gutsanov explained that the proposal made in this way will still be considered by the Supervisory Board of the National Social Security Institute, but he will vote "against".
"Last night, the budget itself was already being looked at and of course, the real parameters are then visible, since the legacy is infinitely heavy - there are no two opinions on the matter. We have made commitments to ensure that there are no shocks in the social sphere and we stand by them".
