“BSP, unfortunately, is sharply reducing its chances for the future with its participation in the government. But this cabinet had to be there, someone had to do it and the BSP will be the big loser. If the government manages to stay in power for a year or two and key reforms are made, perhaps this will compensate for the negatives that we are currently observing”. This was said by the former spokesman for the official cabinets of Galab Donev and Stefan Yanev – Anton Kutev, on the air of the program “Your Day” on NOVA NEWS.
According to him, the big problem of politicians in Bulgaria is that even if they do something, they then tell it in such a way that no one understands it. “I call on the BSP to define the key actions and start taking them, because it is already too late. The impression is constantly created that this government is doing nothing. The big problem of Bulgarian politics is that politicians talk a lot and act little”, added Kutev.
“I do not think that the BSP is more dependent on Delyan Peevski than any other party. The problem is not Peevski's personality itself. The Bulgarian political elite is, in part, criminal. When you have a strong person who influences the Prosecutor's Office and the judicial system, of course the criminal elites are dependent”, he said.
According to Kutev, when a left and right party come together in one government, there is no way that some compromises will not be made. “The useful move would be for the BSP to seize the initiative by identifying several national causes and bringing them to fruition”, he believes.
Kutev also commented on the “Vazrazhdane” protest, in which 10 police officers were injured and the EP building in the capital was doused with red paint. “The thesis of entering the eurozone and adopting the euro is a political decision. It is not so much related to economic indicators. If you want to adopt the euro, you have to convince people that this must be done”, he also pointed out.
