The pro-business opposition party "Democrats" is leading convincingly after yesterday's parliamentary elections in Greenland, Reuters reported.
The vote was closely watched around the world against the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's desire to take control of the island.
The "Democrats" party, which supports a gradual transition to independence from Denmark, won with 30.4% of the vote with 90% of ballots counted.
Support for the formation is gaining sharply after it received only 9.1% in the 2021 elections, Reuters notes.
In second place is the center-left party "Nalerak" with 23.7 percent of the vote.
