A car left the road and overturned after Kardzhali in the direction of Haskovo. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m., bTV reported.
According to initial information, there were no serious injuries. It is assumed that the cause was high speed.
The accident occurred on a section of the road to Makaza, where traffic is intense today due to the many Bulgarians and Romanians returning from Easter vacation in Greece.
Traffic in the area of the incident is difficult.
A total of 73 serious accidents with 85 injured and six dead have occurred in the country since April 17. This was announced by police inspector Biser Tsvetkov from the National Coordination Center for Road Safety at the Ministry of Interior.
For comparison - last year on Easter there were 55 serious road accidents with 75 injured and two dead, said inspector Tsvetkov.
Traffic to the capital is busy. An organization has been created for two-way traffic in the tunnels “Topli dol“ and “Praveshki khanove“ on the “Hemus“ highway. There are detour routes for those traveling from Sofia to Varna.
The Ministry of Interior is ready to limit freight traffic, but at the moment this is not necessary.
