After the attack on the Murgash meteorological station, work there has been temporarily stopped. Relatives and colleagues of the injured family are preparing a protest.
On March 8, the spouses Rumyana and Georgi were on shift. Their attacker entered through a window on the third floor and attacked them with a metal rod, says their relative.
„Georgi is about to have surgery, maxillofacial surgery first, so that he can at least look somehow. All colleagues are in shock“, says Viktor Sredovski.
Until this March, the work of Murgash has not stopped since the station was established in 1952.
„We did not foresee an attack, it was unthinkable. The nearest settlements are Botevgrad and Vrachesh, which are 10 kilometers or more away. There is not a living soul around,“ says Sredovski.
The 32-year-old attacker is under house arrest, and tomorrow a protest in front of the Courthouse in Sofia will demand that the attacker be detained because he is dangerous to society.
