The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov ordered the Executive Agency “General Labor Inspectorate“ to strengthen control over compliance with the regulations on occupational safety and health. The goal is to better guarantee the life and health of workers.
“The deadlines for completing tasks cannot be placed before people's rights“, said Minister Gutsanov. His order comes at the beginning of spring - the most active season for construction and repair activities, as well as on the threshold of the most intensive agricultural activity and the start of the summer season.
Minister Gutsanov will personally monitor the results of the implementation of the order. Already in January, the Executive Agency “General Labor Inspectorate“ began intensive inspections in construction due to the observed large volume of construction and installation work and the occupational accidents in the sector. Within the framework of the campaign, 1410 inspections have been completed in 1378 enterprises so far.
A total of 6243 violations of the provisions of labor legislation have been found. Of these, 1487 are related to the implementation of employment relationships, and 4723 relate to the provision of healthy and safe working conditions. During the control, labor inspectors identified 201 workers without a written employment contract.
The acts drawn up for the suspension of unsecured sites, machines, facilities and workplaces that directly threatened the lives of workers are 201.
