A memorial rally was held in the Dospat village of Barutin to honor the victims of the Revival Process, related to the forced name change in the Rhodope Mountains in 1972.
During the name change, two women died and dozens were injured. The worship service was held today in front of the memorial plaque for those who died in the village of Barutin. Honoring the memory of the victims over the years has become a symbol of the struggle for justice, democracy and human rights and freedoms.
"Today in Barutin, before that 60 years ago in Blagoevgrad, Godecelchevsko, Kardzhali and the events in Deliorman, all this has a modern meaning in its manifestation, which has become our unity of the MRF", said Ilhan Küçük - MEP and Deputy Chairman of the MRF.
"We are going through difficult trials, this unity is being questioned, this unity is being tried in every way to tear it apart, some even say that it should not exist. But the MRF managed to integrate some people who were looking at each other's feet. "If someone wants to destroy this unity, let them be so kind as to show us another path that is more faithful, more truthful and more just," added Küçük.
