The defense chiefs of Britain and France met again in London to discuss security guarantees in the event of a ceasefire in Ukraine that the "coalition of the willing" that Paris and London are trying to form could provide, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
The meeting is the third such since British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron took action to form this coalition, the aim of which would be to deter Moscow from violating a possible ceasefire.
London and Paris took up this initiative after the administration of US President Donald Trump began direct talks with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
"Europe's two nuclear powers are making additional efforts to build a stronger and deeper partnership that would play a fundamental role in the security of continent", said the British Chief of Defence Admiral Tony Radakin after the meeting.
"The talks we held today contribute to defining the shape of future military cooperation between the UK and France, as well as our joint efforts to support Ukraine through military assistance today and after any peace agreement", Radakin emphasized.
Keir Starmer's office specified that the US would continue to receive information about the meetings dedicated to military planning.
According to London, more than 30 countries are ready to join in one way or another in the coalition of the willing, which will provide guarantees for the security of Ukraine.
