This spring, most of the seasonal flowers have already bloomed in the parks and gardens of Sofia. Spring types of plants have been planted in beautifully structured flower compositions of violets, forget-me-nots, daisies combined with different types of tulips.
The flower compositions are about 9,000 sq m. with over 840,000 flowers, among which tulips predominate.
Most of them are planted in geometric or free outlines in the parks of the National Palace of Culture, the City Garden, Borisova Garden, South and West Parks, as well as in the green strips of “Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi“ Blvd., Blvd. “Brussels“, the roundabout of the TV tower and the Russian Monument. There is a colorful figure between the Sofia Tech Park and the “Arena 8888“ hall. Of particular note is the specially selected in the Netherlands tulip species named after the ancient name of Sofia - “Serdika“, which is planted in the flower areas of the “Kliment Ohridski“ garden.
Along with the flowers in the city, many colorful trees such as Japanese cherry trees (sakura), magnolias and lilac bushes have also bloomed.
In addition, for the upcoming Christian holiday Easter - Resurrection of Christ, the Sofia Municipality is also preparing a decoration of 10 decorative eggs, richly decorated with flowers. They will be arranged on “St. Alexander Nevski“ Square, next to the temples “St. Sedmochislenitsi“ and “St. Nedelya“, as well as in the park of the National Palace of Culture.
