Nothing can divert me from the path of bringing us into the eurozone. And what will happen after June 4 (when the results of the convergence report on whether Bulgaria will become part of the eurozone are announced, ed. note), only the Boss up there knows. This was stated to the media in parliament by GERB Chairman Boyko Borisov, reported by novini.bg.
Borisov added that Zhelyazkov's cabinet will continue to govern, albeit in a minority, because it considered entering the eurozone, the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the fight against corruption as important tasks for Bulgaria to solve.
Regarding the PP-DB's intentions to submit a vote of no confidence within a few months, Borisov called on them to explain the arguments for this “to their Euro-Atlantic partners, the European ambassadors and the embassy“.
I hope that in the next month or two there will be foreign investors who will give fresh money to the budget, the GERB leader also said.
I have been saying from day one that it is an extremely unstable government. But despite everything, I intend to do what the people voted for. We brought Bulgaria into Schengen, now into the eurozone. After that, if the people demand elections - that means elections. But the sociological agencies do not show that people want to have elections, Borisov added.
When asked about the protests against him and Delyan Peevski, the former prime minister replied that everyone has the right to vote and those who receive the most votes - they govern.
„The others are dissatisfied. I also couldn't sleep because „Arsenal“ would kill „Real Madrid“ like dogs, but I can't protest against „Arsenal“. Let them protest if we don't like them. We would protest against them, especially me, replied Borisov.
