A record number of Easter eggs were painted in the center of Pazardzhik, which will be distributed to social homes and people in need, writes BNR. The organizers of the initiative "Easter for Everyone" are the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Pazardzhik municipality. In addition to students, many citizens also joined the action.
In just a few hours, over 3,500 eggs were painted in the center of Pazardzhik.
"This year we collected a record number of eggs - nearly 3,500, for which I sincerely thank the people who donated the eggs. These are the people from the villages of Pazardzhik, the mayors of the villages were our coordinators. My sincere thanks to them as well and of course, to the volunteers who painted the eggs and will now set off on their way to people in need. The BRC mainly organized the infrastructure in the form of tables, paints, and many children got involved," explained the deputy mayor of Pazardzhik, Tanya Kolchakova.
"It is very energizing and very pleasant to see how we all unite for such a good cause - to paint the eggs and see many smiles. All the people who came to help us were extremely kind and very happy. A very successful campaign. I expect more people to get together with their loved ones on Easter and have a wonderful time," some of them told the Bulgarian National Radio.
