Police and gendarmerie will guard the area of the Rila Monastery due to the expected hundreds of believers for the holiday.
An additional parking lot with 500 spaces is also expected to be opened above the monastery - in addition to the two paid ones at the Dupnik and Samokov gates, writes BNR.
The necessary organization has been created to guard the area around the Holy Monastery. Inside, in the courtyard and at the approaches, the security is provided by a private company with which the monastery has a contract.
"We have provided colleagues from the "Gendarmerie" directorate, who will assist in maintaining public order and the proper parking of cars in front of the Rila Holy Monastery and in the parking lot, so that the pilgrims who are on the eve of Saturday versus Sunday can withdraw, and on Sunday there will be the traditional operation, which is to maintain public order, against pickpocketing and preventing violations and, of course, the unimpeded movement on the Rila-Rila Monastery road.
At "Bachkova Cheshma" there will be employees who will not allow parking on the left and right on the road, which is narrow after the Rila Monastery in the direction of "Bachkova Cheshma". "This parking lot is ready to accommodate some of the cars if there are more guests at the monastery," explained Commissioner Vasil Pargov - Head of the "Security Police" at the Kyustendil Regional Police Directorate.
