The inspection of the condition of the road where Siyana died has been completed. This was stated by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, quoted by bTV.
After the tragedy with the 12-year-old girl, the numerous signals and calls for resignations in the “Road Infrastructure“ Agency - the regional minister Ivan Ivanov, ordered an inspection of the fatal section and the internal structures of the department and promised punishments.
Today, 20 days later, it became clear that the inspection has been completed.
“The inspection materials have been handed over to the investigation. In order not to undermine the conclusions that could be drawn in this inspection, which is being carried out by the National Investigation Service. Data, information from this inspection should be required from them. Because the affected persons can benefit from this information. I believe in the Bulgarian justice system - that it will come up with the necessary conclusions“, said Minister Ivanov.
Earlier, the father of the deceased Siyana addressed the acting Prosecutor General:
“Dear Mr. Sarafov,
I am writing to you not just as a father, but as a victim of a particularly serious crime. As one of the many Bulgarians who have faced the war on the roads, which is turning our lives into ashes!
The truth leads to those who have been neglecting the signals for years about the dangerous section of the I-3 Sofia-Pleven-Ruse road. It leads to the institutions that do not care about the quality of the road surface, to the responsible employees and companies that place cheap and dangerous materials in the repaired sections, endangering the lives of all of us.
Recent expertise has shown that the newly laid pavement is of such poor quality that its grip is lower than that of the old one. This is criminal. And it kills. Not symbolically. Literally.
Siana's death is not an accident. It is a consequence and a public execution! A consequence of inaction, of corruption, of a systematic lack of morality and responsibility.“
