The Judicial College of the Supreme Judicial Council reappointed Elena Karakasheva-Abadzhieva to the position she held before her appointment as Deputy Prosecutor General at the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office - the position of “judge“ at the Supreme Cassation Court, effective May 12.
The decision is in connection with her request for her dismissal from the position of “Deputy Prosecutor General“ at the Military Procuracy, deposited with the SJC on April 17. Subsequently, Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov proposed Judge Magdalena Lazarova as a new deputy.
On April 23, it became clear that Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva had resigned. The information came after a meeting of the Prosecutorial College of the Supreme Judicial Council. Thus, Acting Prosecutor General Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov was left with one deputy - Vanya Stefanova. At the meeting of the personnel officers, her reasons for resignation were not clear. She was dismissed from the position of Deputy Prosecutor General, effective May 12.
Before becoming Sarafov's deputy, Karakasheva was a judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation, where she requested to return after her release.
