The total amount of loans written off by banks to households and sole traders by the end of January 2025 is slightly over 46.9 billion leva. Compared to the same month in 2024, they increased by 20.8%, according to BNB data.
By the end of January 2025 housing loans amounted to 26.044 billion BGN and grew by a significant 29.3% on an annual basis, which is practically the same as the December annual growth rate.
Consumer loans amounted to 19 billion BGN and grew by 11.9% compared to January 2024, i.e. at the same annual rate as in December.
