The interest of Bulgarians in the Greek coast and vacationing in some of the places closest to the Bulgarian border has long since grown into property purchases. According to the latest data, nearly 30% of transactions with Bulgarians are in the high price segment, namely in the price segment from EUR 500,000 to EUR 1 million. The remaining Bulgarians buy properties worth up to EUR 150,000. Most of the acquired properties require major renovation.
There are, albeit few, Bulgarians who buy hotels or small villas, intermediaries specify. The interest is in properties that only require cosmetic renovation.
Bulgarian entrepreneurs are also involved in the construction of multinational projects for luxury hotels, with the interest mainly in construction sites.
Romanians and Bulgarians remain the most serious foreign clients of Halkidiki. There is also interest from Serbs. However, they are focused on smaller and cheaper properties. The budget they can allocate in most cases does not exceed EUR 70,000.
