The District Prosecutor's Office - Gabrovo is conducting pre-trial proceedings for a serious crime committed in the town of Tryavna. The investigation began after the first action - an inspection of the crime scene and is being conducted for a crime under Article 115 of the Criminal Code.
On March 21, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m., 21-year-old I.D., a resident of the town, was intentionally killed in the yard of a house in the town of Tryavna. According to the investigation, the young woman died after being stabbed in the body and neck with a sharp object.
The alleged perpetrator of the brutal murder is a 23-year-old man, who has not been convicted to date. The young man was in an intimate relationship with the victim, but the two were separated and did not live together at the time of the tragic act.
After committing the murder, the perpetrator attempted suicide by injuring himself with a sharp object. He was given emergency medical care at the scene, but his condition remains serious and life-threatening. He is currently in a medical facility under medical supervision.
The District Prosecutor's Office - Gabrovo informs that once the suspect's condition allows him to participate in the criminal proceedings, a request will be submitted to the District Court - Gabrovo for a preventive measure of "detention in custody".
The urgent investigative actions were carried out by a team from the District Office - Tryavna with the participation of a forensic doctor and in the presence of the prosecutor on duty from the District Prosecutor's Office - Gabrovo.
So far, during the investigation, extensive inspections of the crime scenes have been carried out, witnesses have been questioned, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed to establish the mechanism of the victim's death.
