Traditional Ukrainian dishes are presented in Burgas - 1

Today the Ethnographic Museum in Burgas is hosting the "Day of Ukrainian Cuisine". The event is part of the latest initiative of the Regional History Museum – Burgas “The language of cuisine: diplomacy, history, culture“.

Ukrainian cuisine is characterized by extreme regional diversity, but the most popular national dish is undoubtedly borscht. In 2022, Ukrainian borscht (borscht) was officially recognized by the UNESCO headquarters as part of the world's intangible cultural heritage. You will try the delicious vegetable soup in its classic version and more emblematic delights of Ukrainian cuisine – dumplings with different fillings, sweet and savory pancakes, buckwheat porridge according to a special recipe, the favorite fruit drink of the Zaporozhian Cossacks “uzvar”, pumpkin dessert and other seasonal dishes. Our guests have also prepared a rich musical program – Ukrainian songs, dances and instrumental performances.

The day of Ukrainian cuisine in Burgas is organized thanks to the cooperation between the Regional History Museum – Burgas, Embassy of Ukraine, State Cultural Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in the city of Burgas.

The event will be officially opened by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Bulgaria H.E. Mrs. Olesya Ilashchuk and the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Burgas, Dimitar Karanenov.
