Footballer Timo Werner hopes his loan spell at Tottenham will turn into a permanent deal in the summer.
"I like it here," he told "Sky Sport", quoted by BTA, after the 3-1 home win over Nottingham Forest.
Werner had two less than successful Premier League seasons with Chelsea between 2020 and 2022. After returning to RB Leipzig, he was often on the bench before joining Tottenham on loan in January.
"The Spurs" they have an option to buy him after the end of the season for the sum of 18 million euros. Manager Angelos Postecoglou said the decision was still being considered. He praised Werner several times during the campaign, including for the weekend clash.
The German has two goals and three assists for the club in 11 Premier League games. In the clash against Forest, his cross led to an early own goal in favor of the hosts. The victory lifted the team to fourth place in the standings, which gives the right to participate in the Champions League.
The 28-year-old striker is hopeful that his performance with the London side could help him return to Germany's national team for the country's upcoming European Championships in the summer.
