Bayer Leverkusen's coach - Xabi Alonso, wasn't particularly happy with his team after the rematch from 1/4-finals of the Europa League against West Ham (1:1), reported FOCUS.
"We were preparing for an option in which West Ham would press us very hard. We were not very comfortable playing in our formation. To be honest, in the first half the opponents were better and we felt out of place.
It is very important that we did not concede a second goal because they definitely played better than us. Fortunately, we turned things around after the break. And I'm glad we moved on. There are always difficult moments in the Europa League," Alonso said.
