China's Yuting Huang and Lihao Shen won the first title at the Paris Olympics after became champions of the 10-meter air rifle in the mixed team competition, BTA reported.
In the final, Huang and Shen defeated the representatives of the Republic of Korea Ji-hyun Kum and Ha-jun Park with 16:12. Thus, China defended its gold from the previous Olympics, when, however, the team included other competitors - Qian Yang and Haozhan Yang. The mixed team 10m air rifle discipline makes its debut in the program of the 2020 Tokyo Games.
The reigning world champions also won the qualifiers ahead of their Korean rivals at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre. The representatives of Kazakhstan, Alexandra Le and Islam Satpaev, took the bronze after beating the Germans Anna Jansen and Maximilian Ulbrich 17:5 in the dispute for the third place. It was the first final in the Paris Games program.
