Kevin Penev did not managed to overcome the qualifications of the gymnastics tournament for men in his debut at the Olympic Games in the French capital Paris, BNR reported.
The national team presented its program solidly and collected a total of 77,361 points, which gave it the 42nd position in the final ranking.
Penev received a score of 14,000 points per vault for both attempts. On parallel bars he was rated 12.466 points, on hanger 12.200 points and on floor the highest score of 14.166. On the fifth device pommel horse he had inaccuracies and the judges gave him 11.633 points and finished with a very good performance on rings - 13.166. Thus, he was left out of the individual all-around and individual apparatus finals. His best finishes are 12th on floor and 15th on vault.
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev and the Minister of Sports Georgi Glushkov were in the "Bersi" hall. to support Kevin Penev.
With the first mark in the qualifications Boheng Zhang (China) with 88.597 points (floor 14.466, pommel horse 14.333, rings 14.666, vault 14.666, parallel bars 15.333, beam 15.133).
China, Japan, Great Britain, Ukraine, USA, Italy, Switzerland and Canada qualified for the final of the team competition.
Tomorrow is the women's qualification with the participation of the European vault vice-champion Valentina Georgieva, who will play only three devices - beam, mixed parallel bars and vault.
