Nasko Sirakov: Levski took a huge step. Without Boyko Borisov it would not have been possible - 1

The majority owner of Levski Nasko Sirakov came out with an official position after the stadium "Georgi Asparuhov" was transferred to the Municipality of Sofia. The official believes that the topic of a new stadium is not a sensation and the thousands of supporters of the club deserve a modern facility.

Statement of the majority owner of PFK Levski Nasko Sirakov:

Dear leftists,

On September 20, 2024, a huge step of extreme importance for Levski was taken!

It was possible thanks to the support and assistance of the Chairman of the PP “GERB“ – Mr. Boyko Borisov, who has always declared his personal and professional commitment to Levski and Bulgarian sport.

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision, on the proposal of the regional governor of the Sofia region, Mr. Stefan Arsov, for the free transfer of the stadium “Georgi Asparuhov“ and complex “Gerena“ of the Metropolitan Municipality. The decision of the caretaker government, with Prime Minister Mr. Dimitar Glavchev, is in connection with a request made by the mayor of the Sofia Municipality – Mr. Vasil Terziev and the Chairman of the SOS, Mr. Tsvetomir Petrov, and a decision of the Metropolitan Municipal Council, with which consent is given for the municipality to acquire the right of ownership of the properties free of charge.

The synchronized and teamwork of the institutions, represented by the Council of Ministers, the Regional Administration, the Metropolitan Municipality, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led to the voting of the most responsible decision for the fate of our stadium. The Government's decision, in favor of Levski, opened wide the door for our team to confidently continue its work on comprehensive modernization of the sports infrastructure and the future construction of a new stadium.

What has been achieved is a true proof that football is a unifier! When institutions work in sync – the biggest winner is sports!

I am convinced that the partnership between the state, the Municipality and PFK Levski will continue successfully, for the sake of the many “blue“ community, the people of Sofia and Bulgarian football.

Why is it important for Levski, after so many years, to find the best and true solution for the long-term management of the stadium and the adjacent infrastructure?

PFK Levski is the largest Bulgarian football club, with thousands of supporters throughout the country. The numerous “blue“ community to be deprived of a new stadium and a modern sports facility.

We, as management, are obliged to do everything necessary to realize the most large-scale project in the entire history of the club, namely: the construction of a completely new, modern and, above all, economically meaningful facility, which will works for Levski. Its implementation is a key priority in our program, which went through detailed studies on its future economic and social effectiveness.

At the moment, we are in talks with potential investors, providing objective and professionally prepared economic and financial information about the business potential of the new facility.

We are working actively and professionally in this direction and I believe that our efforts will be crowned with success. This will happen, not just because of the “unrealistic“ (according to our detractors) desires to impose new standards in football, but because of the successive small but sure steps that lead us forward in achieving the set goals.

The topic of building a new football stadium for PFK Levski is not a sensation. There is no more logical continuation and aspiration for development, given the correct management of the club (visible from the publicly presented results).

I assure you that our responsibility and respect for the “blue“ community and the Levski shrine, is the only motive to follow and achieve the set goals!

Sincerely:

Nasco Sirakov – Majority owner of PFK Levski
