Manchester City have confirmed that a fan has died after a "medical incident" at the "Etihad" stadium on Sunday during the English Premier League derby against Manchester United, which the “citizens” lost 1:2 after a late turnaround that came just two minutes into the match, sportal.bg reported.
The champions' statement reads: "Manchester City is aware of the tragic news that one of our supporters has died following a medical incident at yesterday's match. "The thoughts of everyone at the club are with the man's family and fans at this extremely difficult time."
According to the Manchester Evening News, an eyewitness reported that the incident happened at around 4:10pm UK time (editor's note - around 20 minutes before kick-off) near one of the entrances to the pitch. It is reported that one of the Man City fans collapsed and, despite the swift intervention of stewards, he later died.
