Marcus Rashford is ready for a new challenge VIDEO - 1

England football international Marcus Rashford from Manchester United said that he is ready for a new challenge in an interview with journalist Henry Winter, quoted by "Reuters" and BTA.

Speculation about the striker's imminent departure from "Old Trafford" intensified on Sunday when he was not included in the squad for the city derby against Manchester City, won 2:1, and the new manager of the "Red Devils" Ruben Amorim explained his decision by saying that Rashford is not at the level he needs to play at the moment.

The 27-year-old striker, who is a product of United's academy, has been at the club for two decades.

"I think I'm ready for a new challenge and to take the next step in my career. When I leave, there will be no bad feelings. You won't hear anything negative from me about Manchester United. That's just the way I am. Once we've reached this situation, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen other players leave in the past, but I don't want to be like them. When I leave, there will be an official announcement and that will be it," Rashford said.

The striker has scored three times in the last month since Amorim took over but was booed by the team's fans when he was substituted in the 56th minute of last week's Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen.

Rashford has struggled to find his form since the 2022/2023 season, in which he scored 30 goals, but believes he has not yet shown his best.

"I feel like I'm still in the middle of my career and I don't expect the peak of it to be now. I've been playing in the Premier League for nine years and I've learned a lot. It's helped me grow as a player and as a person. I don't regret anything from that period. None of that will affect me going forward because I take it day by day. "Sometimes bad things happen, sometimes good things happen," the striker added.
