Vladimir Zografski sets record for Bulgarian athlete  - 1

Vladimir Zografski set a record for Bulgarian athlete at the Ski Jumping World Championships after finishing ninth on the small hill in Trondheim. Norwegian Marius Lindvik won his first world title and added it to his collection of gold medals from the Beijing Olympics.

This is also the Bulgarian athlete's tied second best achievement of the season, after he recorded an eighth and a ninth place in the World Cup.

Zografski entered the competition with a 19th qualifying result and took 14th position after the first jump of 99.5 meters for 119.2 points. He recorded an impressive second attempt of 105 meters and collected a total of 244.3 points for ninth place. Two-time world champion and six-time World Cup winner Anže Lanišek of Slovenia finished just 3.8 points ahead of him. Season leader Daniel Chofenich of Austria finished only 21st.

Lindvik became the champion of the small hill in Trondheim with a total of 265 points after jumps of 108 and 104.5 meters. He beat German Andreas Wellinger (106.5/104.5 meters) by 2.3 points and Austrian Jan Hörl (107/132.6) by 9.2 points.
