Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva won silver medals in women's doubles at the strong badminton tournament of the "BWF World Tour Super 300" series in Mülheim (Germany) with a prize fund of 240 thousand dollars, BTA reported.
The number 1 ranked sisters, who qualified fifth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, lost in a contested match to the Japanese Mizuki Otake and Miyu Takahashi with 17:21, 22:20, 12:21 in 76 minutes on the court.
The Bulgarians lost the first game, but managed to equalize the score after a dramatic second part, in which they took three consecutive points at the end for 22:20. In the third game they led 7:3, but then their rivals made a strong run and won the match.
For Stefani Stoeva and Gabriela Stoeva this was the second final since the beginning of 2025, after just a month ago they triumphed at the international badminton tournament "International Challenge" in Semnan (Iran). The sisters' coach is Petya Nedelcheva-Hranova.
