CSKA Technical Director Mihail Alexandrov spoke to the media after the draw for the Bulgarian Cup, Topsport reported.
He commented on the upcoming match with Arda and other important topics surrounding the club.
"The draw is, let's say, good, but in no case can it make us relax and calm down. Arda is one of the valuable teams in the league with quite good results, good standing, a good coach, good players, so in no case do I think that the draw was favorable for us, but at the same time there have been tougher draws than this one. The draw is what it is. I am of the opinion that a team, in order to aim for the Cup, must play five strong matches, regardless of who they are against, and if they make one wrong move, they are eliminated, so if we do our job in the 5 matches, it doesn't matter who will be the host or the guest, who we will face", Aleksandrov began.
"Let's hope that we won't have any harsh conditions from the weather forecast, but let's say that our biggest plus is the audience and the fact that we are the hosts can only help us", he continued.
"Everything depends on the preparation, I guess the coaching staff knows their job and knows what to do at any given moment. Goals, priorities, transfers have been outlined, so everything is going according to plan, we are working quite diligently. I am not included in the transfer season for obvious reasons, I am a technical director, but I think the people who are there are doing their job quite conscientiously and everything should be fine", added the technical director.
"This is a conversation between the sports director, the executive director and the coach. These are the three units that most directly have to follow the club's policies in the sports section and you will find out what their decision is soon", said Aleksandrov.
"Everything is going according to plan (b.e. the stadium reconstruction). We are operating at a fairly normal to fast pace. As you can see, we are not hiding anything from anyone. Everyone is aware of how far we have come with the construction, we are constantly showing materials so that not only CSKA fans, but also the entire football community are informed about what is happening at CSKA", he added.
