Southampton have agreed a deal with Ivan Juric to become the team's new manager, reports The Athletic. The Croatian will sign a contract until the summer of 2026 with an option for a further 24 months. The publication says the Saints see Juric as a strong character who is capable of creating tough-to-beat teams based on physical fitness and a solid defensive structure. Having won just once in their first 16 Premier League games, Southampton parted ways with previous manager Russell Martin following a 5-0 defeat to Tottenham on December 15. Juric has been out of work since November, when he left Roma after less than two months in charge of Wolves. The 49-year-old Croatian was appointed in September following the sacking of former Giallorossi captain Daniele De Rossi, but was released after a 3-2 defeat at Bologna that left them in 12th place in Serie A. Juric previously spent three years in charge of fellow Italian side Torino.
