Bulgaria finished 11th in the mixed relay at the Biathlon World Cup in the German winter resort of Oberhof. Blagoy Todev (pictured), Vladimir Iliev, Milena Todorova and Valentina Dimitrova used 10 extra rounds and finished in 1:08.13.8 hours, 3:49.7 minutes behind the winner Sweden, BTA reports.
Todev made an excellent first position and was third after his second clean shot, while Iliev needed 5 extra rounds. In the women's event, Todorova came in sixth after her second visit to the line, when she missed two targets, and Dimitrova, with three more extra rounds in the prone position and a clean shooting in the standing position, managed to finish 11th.
The Swedish team consisting of Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponciuloma, Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg won the race with a time of 1:04.24.1 hour after a great cross-country skiing. They used 10 extra rounds and had 2 penalty laps, but at the last post Elvira Öberg overtook Lou Jeanmoto on the final lap and crossed the finish line first.
France came in second place. Fabien Claude, Eric Perrot, Jean Richard and Lou Jeanmoto were 12.8 seconds behind with 7 extra rounds and one penalty lap.
Third place went to Norway with Sturla Holm Lagrade, Tare Bø, Ingrid Tandrevold and Maren Kirkeide at 1:11.4, with 9 extra rounds and one penalty lap.
The next World Cup start is in Ruhpolding (Germany) from January 15 to 19.
