Bayern Munich beat Freiburg 2-1 away and extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings ahead of chasing Bayer Leverkusen, who drew at RB Leipzig.
The Bavarians took the lead with a goal from top scorer Harry Kane in the 15th minute, and defender Min-Jae Kim doubled the lead in the 54th minute. The hosts pulled one back through Matthias Günter in the 68th minute.
Bayern's lead at the top is now six points after second-placed Leverkusen drew 2-2 with RB Leipzig.
Leverkusen had taken a 2-0 lead through goals from Patrick Schick and Aleix Garcia, but David Raum pulled one back for Leipzig in the first half. However, a late own goal from Edmond Tapsoba secured a point for Leipzig.
Borussia Dortmund sacked coach Nuri Sahin in midweek, but their poor form continued and the team failed to achieve a complete victory against Werder Bremen. The match at "Signal Iduna Park" ended in a 2-2 draw, with Dortmund playing with 10 men for most of the match against Bremen after Nico Schlotterbeck was sent off in the 21st minute.
Serhu Girassi and an own goal by Marco Friedl gave Dortmund a 2-0 lead, but the visitors from Bremen managed to get a point thanks to Leonardo Bittencourt and Marvin Duksch.
Fourth-placed Stuttgart lost 0-2 to sixth-placed Mainz, while Augsburg beat Heidenheim 2-1.
