For the 17th time, the runners in the national cross country race "Following Levski's Footsteps" will follow the Apostle's Footsteps in the Troyan Balkans, Nikolay Todorov from the "Vasil Levski" - Troyan Municipal Committee told BTA.
The organizers of the event, which starts at 11:00 on February 15, are the "Hemus" - Troyan Orienteering Sports Club, the "Vasil Levski" - Troyan Municipal Committee and the Troyan Municipality. There is no participation fee, and the routes are 3 km, 8 km and 12 km long.
More than 320 participants from all over the country have already registered for the race, the organizers said.
The start of the cross-country race will be from the garden in front of the National School of Applied Arts “Prof. Venko Kolev“ in Troyan. Participants will follow in Levski's footsteps, finishing in front of the Troyan Monastery, where they can view the Apostle's preserved hiding place and learn more about the country's only monastic revolutionary committee founded by him there.
The race is the first in a series of initiatives that will mark 152 years since the death of Vasil Levski in the Troyan municipality.
