Radoslav Jankov finished third in Canada - 1

Slovenian snowboarder Jean Koshir won the parallel giant slalom for the World Cup in Val Saint-Com (Canada), after defeating Austrian Benjamin Karl in the final. Koshir led the entire course and finally won with a lead of 0.14 seconds, BTA reports.

Third place went to Bulgarian Radoslav Jankov, who defeated Italian Daniele Bagozza in the small final by 0.14. Yankov should have fought for the title, but in the semifinals he was defeated by Kosir.

Previously, the 35-year-old from Chepelare eliminated Arnaud Godet (Canada) and Elias Huber (Germany) in the main draw, and even earlier in the competition there were no problems in the qualifications.

For the 40-year-old Kosir, who defeated the most successful snowboarder of the last decade - the Austrian Benjamin Karl - in the final, this is the seventh victory in his career and the first after Rogla in 2021. The three-time Olympic medalist already has 23 podium finishes in World Cup competitions. Kosir was the only Slovenian representative in the elimination battles in the first of the two competitions in Canada. Given this, however, his success had little impact on the overall World Cup standings.

The leader in the overall Globe standings in parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom is Italian Maurizio Bormolini with 650 points, ahead of Andreas Promeger from Austria with 563. Radoslav Yankov is in 3rd position with 514, followed by Karl with 498.
