Bulgarian sabre fencers took bronze at the World Cup for girls in Kazakhstan  - 1

The national sabre team consisting of Kalina Atanasova, Emma Neykova and Vasilena Krasteva won a bronze medal at the World Cup for girls in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Emma Neykova and Kalina Atanasova continue their extremely strong play from last year, when Emma became the European champion for girls, and together with Kalina Atanasova, Yoana Ilieva and Beloslava Ivanova she also won the European team title for women under 23, BTA reports.

In Almaty, the Bulgarian sabre fencers went for medals, losing in their first elimination match to the strong team of Kazakhstan after an extremely competitive game. The rivals led from the very beginning of the match, but at the last change Emma Neykova tied the score from 33:40 to 44:44, and one point was not enough for the Bulgarians to play for the gold - 45:44 for the Kazakhs. In the match for third place Atanasova, Neykova and Krasteva prevailed 45:30 over Georgia and won the
bronze medals.

After their excellent performance in Kazakhstan, the Bulgarians will significantly improve their ranking in the team and individual rankings for girls of the International Fencing Federation.
