Milena Todorova (pictured) and Lora Hristova had a strong competition and ranked 16th and 19th respectively in the women's 10-kilometer pursuit at the Biathlon World Championships in the Swiss winter resort of Lenzerheide, BTA reports.
Todorova missed four targets in the four shootings and covered the course in 29:38.8 minutes. For her, this is the best result from a championship on the planet in this discipline after 18th position in 2020.
Hristova was flawless in the shooting and ranked 19th with a time of 29:48.2 minutes. The third Bulgarian Valentina Dimitrova finished with four faults and a gap of 32:07.8 minutes.
The world champion was the German Franziska Preuss, who took the first individual title in her career. She shot without a fault and finished in 26:59.9 minutes.
"Today was the perfect race. This is what I have been training for. I am very happy. In the last lap I was able to enjoy myself. I will never forget that day", she said after the success.
Second and third were respectively Elvira Oberg (Sweden) with one missed target and a deficit of 39.1 seconds and sprint champion Justine Breza-Bouché with three shooting errors and a deficit of 40.9 seconds.
Todorova is 2:39.9 minutes behind the winner, Hristova at 2:49.3 minutes, and Dimitrova at 5:08.9 minutes.
