Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not particularly believe in the chances of the team from North London to fight for the championship title in England this season, BTA reported.
Mikel Arteta's team is 7 points behind leaders Liverpool, and the team has not become champions since 2004.
"25 games have already been played this season, and Liverpool have scored only one (v. a. from Nottingham Forest 0:1 in September). They must lose at least three of the remaining 13 by the end of the season. For the moment, this seems very unlikely, unless they allow a complete collapse. There is a super favourite and Arsenal need to make a perfect run, winning all their games to have a chance. I pray for that, but I need to improve the quality of my prayers," said the French manager, who has managed the team for 22 years and is currently FIFA's director of global football development. Wenger spoke in the beIN SPORTS studio.
There is still hope in Arne Slott's Premier League calendar, with the team due to play Aston Villa, Manchester City, Newcastle and Fulham before hosting Arsenal in the 36th round on May 10, which is expected to be the season finale.
