Milan enters the second leg against Feyenoord in the play-off round of the Champions League with a goal deficit and will approach the return match as if it were a final, said Milan director Zlatan Ibrahimovic, BTA reported.
Ibrahimovic replaced coach Sergio Conceicao at the pre-match press conference, as the coach is traveling to Portugal, where he is attending the funeral of the former president of Porto Pinto da Costa.
Milan lost the first leg of the play-off phase of the eliminations 0:1 as a guest, but hopes to turn the tide of the match in front of its home crowd at "San Siro".
"The boys have to show character, to enter the match focused, aggressive and committed", Ibrahimovic told reporters.
"It is important to play well, but it is more important to win. We are losing by a goal, we have to get a result to continue. Everyone has to help their team-mate and make them concentrate. It is a team game, but individual performances are also important. Even those on the bench are important, everything is related to the team. This is what makes a team and a team," Ibrahimovic also said.
The legendary striker believes that Milan's supporters can play a vital role with their support.
"For tomorrow, our fans are important, in the first match, the Feyenoord fans played a serious role in their victory in Rotterdam. But I am confident that tomorrow, with 80,000 Milan fans in the stadium and those around the world, they will give maximum support to the team, which will then have to use this energy to do the best possible job," Ibrahimovic added.
Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is aware of how important the defensive play will be.
"We as a team and as defenders go out on the pitch every game with the aim of not conceding. We know the quality we have, but if we concede a goal, we must not lose concentration and keep our faith in what we are doing. Ultimately, we know that we must and want to win, we must be focused," Tomori said.
