Harry Kane has suffered a minor calf injury and will miss several training sessions, Bayern Munich confirmed today. The 31-year-old striker suffered the injury, which caused internal bleeding, before Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Celtic in the Champions League.
The Bavarians booked their place in the last 16 with a 3-2 aggregate win after Alphonso Davies equalised late on for Vincent Kompany's side. Kane, however, was substituted at half-time after hitting the post in the first half and his participation in the match against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga is now in doubt.
“I'm not sure if I'll be able to play on Sunday”, said Kane, adding that he also suffered a minor injury to his jaw after a collision in the last match against Bayer Leverkusen.
Since joining Bayern in 2023, the England captain has 73 goals in all competitions - four more than any other player in Europe's top five leagues, with Kylian Mbappe second on 69.
Kane has also made 93 appearances in all competitions (goals + assists), which is also the highest among top strikers in Europe.
